About Currency Converter
The Currency Converter lets you instantly convert between 35 major world currencies entirely within your browser. Select a source currency and target currency from a dropdown of 35 options — including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, KRW, CAD, AUD, CHF, HKD, SGD, and currencies from Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America — enter an amount, and get the converted result immediately. A quick-reference panel shows simultaneous conversions to the 8 most common currencies so you can compare exchange rates at a glance. You can also swap the source and target currencies with one click.
The converter also includes a cross-rate table view showing a 9×9 matrix of exchange rates between USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, KRW, CHF, CAD, and AUD. This table is useful for comparing how currencies relate to each other simultaneously, for example when evaluating international payment options or hedging exposure across multiple currencies. The rates are static reference rates anchored to USD, useful for education, travel planning, quick estimates, and budget calculations.
All conversion logic runs entirely in your browser using fixed reference exchange rates. No live API calls are made, so results are available instantly with no network latency and no data is sent to any server. The tool supports dark mode and works on all screen sizes. Note that for live interbank rates or time-sensitive financial transactions, a real-time data source should be consulted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which currencies does the converter support?
The converter supports 35 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, KRW, CAD, AUD, CHF, HKD, SGD, SEK, NOK, DKK, NZD, ZAR, BRL, INR, MXN, THB, MYR, IDR, PHP, VND, TWD, AED, SAR, TRY, PLN, CZK, HUF, RUB, ARS, CLP, and COP. This covers major currencies from the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and key emerging markets.
Are the exchange rates real-time?
No — this converter uses static reference exchange rates anchored to USD. The rates are useful for travel planning, budgeting, education, and quick estimates, but they do not reflect live interbank rates. For time-sensitive financial transactions, trading, or large transfers, always use a live rate source from a bank or financial institution.
How does the cross-rate table work?
The cross-rate table shows a 9×9 grid with USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, KRW, CHF, CAD, and AUD on both axes. Each cell shows how many units of the column currency equal one unit of the row currency. The diagonal cells show a dash because a currency always equals 1:1 with itself. This view is useful for comparing relative currency strengths and understanding cross-currency relationships.
How do I convert currencies?
Select the "Convert" tab, enter an amount in the Amount field, choose the source currency from the "From" dropdown, and choose the target currency from the "To" dropdown. The converted result updates instantly. You can also use the Swap button to reverse the conversion, or click the "Cross Rates" tab to view the multi-currency rate matrix.
What is the USD as the base currency?
All exchange rates in this converter are expressed relative to the US Dollar (USD = 1). To convert between two non-USD currencies, the tool divides their respective USD rates: rate(A to B) = RATES[B] / RATES[A]. This approach uses the USD as a common reference point, which is standard for many financial rate tables.
Why does the KRW rate show such a large number?
The Korean Won (KRW) and other Asian currencies like JPY, IDR, and VND have much larger nominal values per USD than Western currencies. This reflects historical monetary policy, not relative economic strength. For example, 1 USD ≈ 1,328 KRW means you get about 1,328 Korean Won for each US Dollar, not that the Won is weaker in real purchasing power terms.
Can I use this converter for international wire transfers?
This tool is suitable for estimates and travel budgeting, but not for executing actual currency transactions. Live exchange rates for wire transfers include bank spreads, transaction fees, and daily rate fluctuations that differ from reference rates. For international transfers, use your bank's rate, a licensed money transfer service like Wise or Revolut, or a forex broker with live rates.
Which currencies are in the quick-reference panel?
When you select a source currency in Convert mode, the quick-reference panel shows simultaneous conversions to EUR, GBP, JPY, KRW, CNY, CAD, AUD, and CHF — the eight most commonly referenced major currencies — excluding your selected source currency. This lets you see relative values across multiple major currencies at the same time without switching.
